Privacy policy
Effective October 16, 2026
Juni is a small, privately run project used by a small number of invited adults. What you share with Juni is personal. This page explains plainly what happens to it.
What Juni keeps
- Your phone number, first name, time zone, and the preferences you choose in setup.
- A trusted contact's name and number, only if you add one.
- Your messages and Juni's replies. Voice notes are turned into text; the audio is deleted once it has been transcribed.
- What Juni builds from your conversations: exercises you complete, mood ratings, plans, and the short notes Juni keeps about patterns it notices. You can see and correct all of these.
- Technical records with no message content, such as when a message arrived and whether it was delivered.
What it is used for
Only to run Juni for you: replying to you, guiding exercises, remembering context so you do not have to repeat yourself, and making summaries you ask for. Juni has no ads, and your information is never sold.
How it is protected
- Everything is stored in Google Cloud in the United States.
- Your messages and notes are encrypted with a key that belongs only to you. Each person's data has its own key.
- Every use of your key is recorded in an audit log.
- Day to day, the person who runs Juni sees only operational information, like message counts and error rates, and not what anyone wrote.
To be honest about the limit: the owner of the cloud account that runs Juni could, in principle, give themselves access. The setup makes that a deliberate step that is recorded, not something that can happen casually.
Who else handles your information
- Google Cloud hosts Juni and provides the AI model that writes Juni's replies and the service that transcribes voice notes, under an agreement for handling health information. Google does not use your data to train its models.
- Twilio and your mobile carrier deliver texts. Texts and voice notes are not end-to-end encrypted, so they pass through these companies in readable form. Juni deletes messages from Twilio once it has received them.
Your phone number and your consent to receive texts are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your choices
- See and correct what Juni has noted about you, any time, in the web app.
- Export everything Juni has about you.
- Delete everything. Deletion takes effect immediately: your key is locked so nothing can be read. For 7 days you can undo it. After that it is permanent, including in backups.
- Stop texts by replying STOP.
How long it is kept
Until you delete it, or until Juni shuts down, in which case you will be told in advance and everything will be deleted.
Adults only
Juni is only for people 18 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, you will be told before the change takes effect.
